BEVERAGE SERVER

Description:

Position Summary

Providing exceptional beverage service to guests throughout the gaming floor, including slot machines, table games, and the high-limit gaming area. Responsibilities include taking and fulfilling drink orders promptly, maintaining cleanliness in service areas, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging with guests to ensure a positive experience.  Ability to thrive in a fast-past environment.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides excellent customer service through friendly communication and positive interaction, in order to establish guest perception of exceptional hospitality and friendliness, within assigned section posted by supervisory team.
  2. Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  3. When assigned to the table games area, approaches customers only when cards are not in play.  Must approach in between deals.
  4. Ensures that the gaming area is properly maintained by removing empty cups and trash from the gaming area.
  5. Cleans casino floor drink stations, self-service stations, and all equipment by ensuring that health and safety regulations are maintained in accordance with Indian Health Services requirements.  Equipment includes but is not limited to; drink carts, coffee carafes, soda fountain machines, coffee/hot cocoa dispensing machines, etc.
  6. Replenishes supplies in assigned area such as; ice, cups, napkins, and soda bibs as needed.  This includes self-service drink stations on the casino floor.
  7. Stocks refrigerating units with product to proper bar levels using the FIFO rotation system, replaces empty soda bibs using safe lifting techniques.
  8. Attending daily stand-up meetings to ensure property communications are understood.
  9. Timely completion of computer assisted training.
  10. Ensures temperature logs are completed every shift.
  11. Informs supervisor of additional products needed.
  12. Checks equipment (ice machines, refrigerators, soda fountain machines, coffee/hot cocoa dispensing machines) daily and reports problems to supervisory team. Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
  13. Operates POS System within the Poker Room by ringing proper amount into the register and giving the guest or server the correct change, accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure. Maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
  14. Ensures that IG cash registers are maintained for cleanliness.
  15. Responsible for accurately tendering and presenting checks to guests within the Poker Room.
  16. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Understanding of beverage service procedures and protocols.
  2. Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food/drink preservation.
  3. Knowledge of Tribal, federal, state and local sanitary regulations regarding the preparation, maintenance, storage, and sales of food/drink products.
  4. Knowledgeable of basic sanitation in accordance with Indian Health Services requirements.
  5. Ability to understand and accurately relay guest’s orders via Point-Of-Sale program.
  6. Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  7. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public and be attentive to customer’s needs.
  8. Possess the ability to count money/change correctly.
  9. Interpersonal Skills – Considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations; may deal with people who are difficult, hostile, or distressed. 
  10. Experience with Point-Of-Sale programs.

Requirements:

   Education and Experience  

Required:

  1. High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent. 
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

  1. Experience in restaurant or food service capacity.

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License within 60 days of hire date, in order to potentially be crossed trained in bars/lounges, after successful completion of 90-day probationary period.
  2. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  3. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
