Description:

Position Summary

Support the efficient operations of multiple bars, casino floor drink stations, and restaurants. Assist bartenders and beverage servers in delivering exceptional service to guests by maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and ensuring smooth operations. Provides the bar and/or casino floor drink station areas with supplies and provides the bartenders and/or beverage servers with items upon request.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Bars/Restaurants:

  1. Checks equipment (ice machine, refrigerator, chillers, glass washers, draft system) and reports problems to supervisory team. Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
  2. Cleans bar equipment (glass washers, chillers, beer/keg coolers, etc.) and replenishes bar supplies such as liquor, beer, fruit, ice, cups, napkins, and glassware as needed. 
  3. Stocks refrigerating units with product to proper bar levels using the FIFO rotation system, replaces empty beer kegs using safe lifting techniques, and assists with preparing garnish for drinks using proper food handling skills within accordance with established health and safety guidelines.
  4. Informs supervisor of additional products needed.
  5. Washes glasses, bar tops and back counters, polishes bar fixtures, mops floors, and removes empty bottles and trash.
  6. Timely completion of computer assisted training.  
  7. Responsible for maintenance of tables regarding the ongoing removal of empty glassware during service and completely clearing of tables after guests have departed.
  8. Attends pre-shift meetings; daily specials, service issues, and promotions.
  9. Ensures all product is properly secured and stored.
  10. Ensures responsible alcohol service requirements are upheld by oneself as well as co-workers to include checking all patrons for valid identification and refusing service to impaired patrons.
  11. Serves food items as required. 
  12. Ensures incident documentation is completed on a daily basis.
  13. Ensures temperature logs are completed every shift.
  14. Ensures that IG cash registers are maintained for cleanliness.
  15. Removal of trash, cardboard, mop heads, and dirty rags at the end of the shift to the trash room in the correct bins.
  16. Maintains, cleans, and organizes the venue.  This includes cleaning and power washing all rolling carts, floormats, and trash cans throughout the venue. Sweeping and mopping venue and storage rooms. Clearing floor drains and ice machine drains.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Casino Floor:

  1. Cleans casino floor equipment, floor drains, and storage room.
  2. Replenishes supplies such ice, cups, napkins, and soda bibs as needed. 
  3. Stocks refrigerating units with product to proper par levels using the FIFO rotation system, replaces empty soda bibs using safe lifting techniques .
  4. Participation in daily stand up meetings to ensure proper communications are understood.
  5. Timely completion of computer assisted training.
  6. Ensures temperature logs are completed every shift.
  7. Informs supervisor of additional products needed.
  8. Removal of trash, cardboard, mop heads, and dirty towels at the end of shift to the trash room in the correct bins.
  9. Puts away the alcohol order for bars, in absence of their barback.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  11. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. 

 Additional Responsibilities

  1. Assists with coverage for bartenders and servers during breaks
  2. Greets and welcomes all guests in a pleasant and professional manner.
  3. Prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe with correct jigger and wine  
  4. carafe usage, required for all pours. 
  5. Presents drinks to guests or servers as required.

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared to all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Use of all equipment and Point-Of-Sale programs to include the ability to accurately count cash and change to guests, as required. 
  2. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. 
  3. The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. 
  4. The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects within recommended safety guidelines.
  5. Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes professionally according to guidelines.
  6. Responsible for accurately tendering and presenting checks to guests when covering for bartender and/or server.
  7. Interpersonal Skills – Considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations; may deal with people who are difficult, hostile, or distressed. 
  8. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public.
  9. Works seamlessly with bartenders, servers, and other staff members.

  13. Knowledge of basic sanitation in accordance with Indian Health Services requirements.
  14. Maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene.
  15. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public and be attentive to customer’s needs.

Requirements:

   Education and Experience 

Required:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Six (6) months experience in food and/or beverage field.

Preferred:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent. 

 

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
  3. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License upon hire.
