EMPLOYEE BENEFITS AT MOUNT AUBURN HOSPITAL

Employees of Mount Auburn Hospital receive the following benefits, based on scheduled hours and length of service:

  • Health Insurance:

  • Employees may elect health insurance coverage, provided that they are scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Plans include Choice, Choice Plus, and PPO (all through Tufts Health Plan). These deductions are pre-taxed and payroll deducted.

  • Dental Plan:

  • Employees may elect either a High Option or Low Option plan from Delta Dental. The premium is employee paid, pre-taxed and payroll deducted. The employee must be scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

  • Vision Insurance:

  • Employees may elect coverage for either the United Health Care Standard or Enhanced options. The premium is employee paid through payroll deduction. The employee must be scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

  • Flexcare:

  • Flexcare, also available to those scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week, is a benefit that allows employees to set aside pre-tax earnings to be used for out-of-pocket medical or dependent care expenses. The maximum you can contribute during this period is $2,500 for medical expenses and $5,000 for dependent care expenses (or $2,500 if married and filing separately). The minimum you can contribute to either account is $312.00 per year. It is important not to overestimate what you will need for reimbursement because this money will not be returned to you. Also, all claims must be submitted to Crosby Benefits by March 31st following the end of the plan year.

  • Life Insurance:

  • All employees regularly scheduled for 20 hours or more per week receive free life insurance coverage. For exempt employees, coverage begins immediately and provides a benefit equivalent to one times annual salary. For non-exempt employees, coverage begins after six months and provides a benefit of one times annual salary. Employees may purchase supplemental life insurance up five times annual base pay through payroll deduction. Also, Spousal and Child life insurance options are available.

  • Long-Term Disability Insurance:

  • Full-time employees receive free long-term disability insurance coverage. For exempt employees, enrollment is effective immediately. For non-exempt employees, enrollment begins after six months in a full-time position. The plan provides a benefit of up to 60% of monthly pay in the event an employee becomes disabled and unable to work for a period of 90 days or more. Full-time employees may purchase additional insurance that provides an increased benefit to 70% of pay. Part-time employees regularly scheduled for 20 to 35 hours per week may purchase basic LTD coverage through payroll deduction.

  • Earned Time:

  • A paid time-off program that includes paid vacation time, sick time and holidays, and any other scheduled or unscheduled time off. Employees accrue earned time weekly, provided that they are regularly scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Employees may begin to use earned time after three months of employment.

  • RetirementPLUS:

  • RetirementPLUS is Mount Auburn Hospital's defined contribution retirement savings plan. After two years of service at a minimum of 20 hours per week, employees who are at least age 21 will receive a contribution from the hospital to a 403b tax-deferred annuity account in their name. The amount contributed is equal to a percentage of salary up to the statutory limit. The amount contributed is equal to a percentage of up to a maximum of $265,000 of gross pay. New enrollees receive a 3% hospital contribution, which increase to 5%, 7%, and 8% based on length of service. The money can be invested with either Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association/College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) or Fidelity Investments. Employees may contribute voluntarily to these accounts through weekly payroll deduction. This can be arranged at any time during employment.

  • METLIFE BENEFITS:

  • Employees enroll directly with Metlife for Accident Insurance (covers dismemberment, injuries and other medical treatments), Critical Illness Insurance (added protection to complement your medical plan), Auto Insurance and Homeowners Insurance.

  • Pet Insurance:

  • Employees may elect insurance to cover a pet. The premium is employee paid through payroll deduction.

  • Group Legal Plan:

  • Employees may enroll in the METLAW Hyatt Premier Group Legal Plan. This plan provides employees and their dependents access to legal services with participating attorneys.
