Utility Cleaner

Summary:

Responsible for the deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, stoves, ovens, as well as high dusting through the kitchen area and beverage outlets.  Washes dishes, pots, pans, and various utensils used in the kitchen. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Cleans stoves, ovens, floors, and other kitchen equipment, as well as high-dusting throughout the kitchen
• Uses correct chemicals for designated items for cleaning and sanitizing various surfaces according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
• Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
• Operates and maintains various machines such as dish washing machines, garbage disposals, sinks, grills, broilers, pots, pans, utensils and all other kitchen equipment and surfaces including the breakdown of machines as assigned
• Adheres to all Health Department sanitation and safety regulations as required
• Transports garbage containers and all other debris from the kitchen area and bars to designated dumpsters
• Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
• Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of experience or CTA Kitchen Worker certification preferred
• Knowledge of stove cleaning preferred
• Previous experience working with cleaning agents and chemicals preferred
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Knowledge of food safety and proper sanitation
• Ability to communicate verbally in English
• Ability to read and understand signs and safety guidelines
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
• Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
• Verify right to work in the United States

• Regularly push/pull up to 50lbs.
• Regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels
• Regularly squat, kneel, bend, reach, twist
• Frequently standing or walking
• Constant use of hearing and vision, distinguish between shades of color, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
• Ability to inspect and/or detect odors to ensure product quality and safety
• Ability to ascend and descent stairs
