Assistant Banquet Supervisor

Aquarius (Laughlin, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Responsible in assisting the banquet department in all areas of operations up to and including supervision of servers and captains, handling telephone calls, coordinate staffing and equipment levels of the function in alignment with the BEOs and packets for each event. This position will oversee Banquets at both Aquarius and Edgewater properties.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall day-to-day operation, including supervision of Banquet staff and execution of all banquet events
  • Must be present in all casino and major events as determined by the Manager of Banquets
  • Trains, supervises, and schedules Banquet team members to ensure established standards are maintained
  • Maintain storage and prep areas for banquets alongside the Banquet Captain, track inventory and gather together orders for products needed at upcoming events in a timely manner. (Inclusive of beverage products, linen needs, disposable silverware)
  • Assemble task lists for staff to complete in preparation for an event and reporting to Manager
  • Assist with any office side duties to the manager’s discretion when on floor duties are slower
  • Attend food & beverage meetings
  • Maintain all updated copies of the BEOs and lead sheets within the banquet department
  • Run banquet checks as needed for accounting
  • Assist as a Banquet Server as needed for large events or days with multiple events
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a casual dining, high volume food and beverage outlet or banquets preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and group presentation communication skills
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation guidelines
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service
  • Delphi, Infogenesis, Kronos and Stratten Warren preferred
  • Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system
  • Ability to perform basic math computation
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally push/pull, lift, carry up to 40lbs at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels
  • Occasionally squat kneel, reach, bent, and twist
  • Occasionally sit and work at a desk or computer, and communicate via radio
  • Regularly standing or walking
  • Constant use of hearing and vision, distinguish between shades of color, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
  • Constant movement throughout both Laughlin properties
  • Ability to ascend and descent stairs
