Payroll Clerk

Summary: Responsible for performing the administrative duties necessary to coordinate accurate, timely payment of payroll to all employees of each ACEP, LLC property.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains time and attendance records throughout the properties, providing reports to all departments, for review, on a regular basis.
  • Reviews wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Post information pertaining to hours worked, deductions, paid time off, benefits, gratuities and direst deposits, into the computer in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of all financial data produced in Payroll, including reports.
  • Maintains accurate records of all wage garnishments and child support orders.
  • Cooperates with the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies, providing detailed payroll information as requested.
  • Handles limited banking functions pertaining to Payroll, and resolves any discrepancies in the General Ledger.
  • Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve payroll disputes from employees.
  • Prepares and issues paychecks, replaces lost and/or stolen check, and ensures accurate information for direct deposits.
  • Calculates and verifies payroll adjustments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • One to two years previous experience performing Payroll Clerk job duties or work experience with Kronos Timekeeping system
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • FPC or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related area preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, math and computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and to respond to common inquiries or complaints/questions/concerns from employees or regulatory agencies

  • Vision and literacy (critical).
  • Ability to work with a computer for an extended period of time, including fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
