JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for greeting and welcoming all guests in a sincere, professional and friendly manner. Provides spa guests with finger and toe nail beautification services that improve the guest’s overall sense of well-being in a relaxed and stress-free environment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES PERFORMED:  This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.   1. Greets Spa guests in a welcoming and gracious manner and makes them comfortable.
  2. Performs nail consultations and offers guidance to guests in selecting appropriate nail treatments.
  3. Provides individualized nail (hand and foot) services and treatments that meet the guest’s needs and expectations.
  4. Ensures an optimum level of guest service and satisfaction by providing a clean, quiet, comfortable and organized treatment room.
  5. Educates guests about products used and recommends products for home.
  6. Understands and uses universal precautions and sanitary procedures.
  7. Maintains professional relationships with spa clientele.
  8. Routinely inspects work areas for cleaning needs, defective materials, and potential safety hazards. Notifies appropriate person(s) for proper resolution.
  9. Maintains adequate inventory of linens and product; places orders and re-stocks supplies as necessary.
  10. Begins and ends all treatments on time, adhering to appointments and scheduling.
  11. Schedules and maintains Spa appointments and makes reservations for guests.
  12. Assists walk-in guests who do not have appointments and books them as soon as possible.
  13. Receives payments from guests for services and products.
  14. Performs other duties as may be required including assisting in the reception area and assisting with the upkeep of the locker rooms, fitness center, stockroom and salon.
  15. Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry.
  16. Exhibits passion for the hospitality and gaming experience of our guests.
  17. Takes personal responsibility for delivering an excellent guest experience.
  18. Knows the overall property, the gaming offerings, and their locations.
  19. Builds relationships inside and outside of their department / team to improve ways of working and provide a great guest experience.
  20. Models for the team, a strong work ethic and is visible, available and present for the guest and their team.
  21. Identifies ways to improve workflows and processes to work smarter and increase efficiency.
  22. Proactively shares guest feedback with executive management and peers in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  23. Seeks to share and improve processes and workflows based on guest feedback.
  24. Finds ways to make good use of their strengths and talents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

SUPERVISION EXCERCISED:  None.

 

LICENSE REQUIRED:  Must obtain and hold a Class II gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.

 

EXTENT OF JOB AUTHORITY:  Interacts effectively with the guests and team members.  Provides excellent guest service at all times, administers individualized nail services and treatments that exceeds the guest’s needs and expectations, performs memorable sessions to guests.   

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION: High school diploma of GED required.  Graduate of an accredited cosmetology school.  Two years experience as a manicurist required, preferably in a salon, spa or resort setting.  (Current) Cosmetologist Washington State Certification/License required and must be maintained during length of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly required to talk or hear. Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.   Ability to handle a fast paced, loud environment and tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke.  Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Ability to lift 25lbs and able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and events as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly exposed to various products used in the spa industry.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION: Must be enthusiastic, energetic, personable, friendly, as well as passionate and knowledgeable regarding the spa industry. Appropriate Washington State Certifications must be presented prior to employment and certification requirements must be maintained during the length of employment.  Must have superior guest service skills and the ability to maintain confidential information due to the close contact with guests.  Must be able to handle clients in difficult situations.  Must have effective communication skills and be computer literate.  Preferred: Multiple license in related field.
