JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY:  Assists the Facilities Director in designing construction projects within a team environment.  Assumes responsibility for cataloging, maintaining and upgrading all facility drawings and technical literature.  Shares accurate building information with Facilities Department staff and other departments on request.  Assists other departments with project planning, estimating and generating technical drawings.

SPECIFIC DUTIES PERFORMED:  This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.

  1. Advises the Facilities Director and Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with building codes and construction standards.
  2. Creates, maintains and verifies the accuracy of all facility drawings and plan sets.
  3. Assists in the creation of file conversions and hard copy prints for field use.
  4. Assists the Facilities Director and Facilities Manager in developing an integrated, small platform, portable electronic, building information system for field maintenance use.
  5. Participates in department meetings as directed.
  6. Researches, prepares, and calculates construction cost estimates.
  7. Maintains catalogs, price lists, vendor information and related information for reference. 
  8. Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of applicable building laws/regulations. 
  9. Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence bid specifications, bid schedules, graphs and other administrative documents as requested.
  10. Makes judgment calls based on the understanding of Legends Casino’s purpose, values and objectives while utilizing research, knowledge and experience. 
  11. Executes the policies, procedures, protocols and controls that govern the Facilities Department.
  12. Builds relationships inside and outside their department/team to improve ways of working and providing a great guest experience.
  13. Finds ways to make good use of their and their team member’s strengths and talents.
  14. Acts as a mentor to their peers and considers the success of their fellow team members as their own success.
  15. Takes personal responsibility for their performance and constantly strives to improve.
  16. Continues to develop skills so that they can contribute at a higher level.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

SUPERVISION EXCERCISED:  None.

 

LICENSE REQUIRED:  Must obtain and hold a Class III gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND REQUIRED FOR POSITION:  High School diploma or G.E.D.  Vocational/technical training with 7 to 10 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibility specified.  Formal training in M.S. Office, AutoCAD, and PDF conversion/editing software preferred.

 

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.  Ability to sit or stand for extended length of time and lift up to 40 pounds.  Must be able to tolerate a high energy casino environment including bright lights, cigarette smoke and noise.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQURED FOR POSITION:  Must have a detailed knowledge of commercial construction as it applies to the hospitality industry.  Must be able to understand and evaluate architectural, mechanical and electrical system drawings.  Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite programs, AutoCAD and proprietary software systems common to the engineering field.  Possesses and maintains a technical knowledge base through personal and formal study and professional associations.  Possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.  Must be especially proficient in technical writing and graphic communication.  Must be able to present highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
