Seasonal Hostess Job Summary 
As directed, acts as Hostess at the restaurant located at the Westfield Inn.  Duties include greeting customers and welcoming them to the restaurant, directing them to the dining room, taking reservations, estimating wait times, and monitoring table availability. 

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)
  1. Greets customers with a courteous welcome and provides appropriate direction into the dining room.
  2. Monitors the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables.
  3. Estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting.
  4. Answering the telephone in a courteous manner, answering questions about restaurant hours, estimated wait times, and taking reservations.
  5. Achieves the high standards of quality, production, cooperation, and service set by Westfield Group for our employees, guests and customers.
  6. Complies with all OSHA and Westfield safety/training/certification standards within required timeframes.
  7. Consistently reports to work on time and completes shifts, as scheduled.
Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education(in order of importance)
  1. Must be 18 years of age or older due to the serving of alcoholic beverages.
  2. Excellent customer service skills.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate and receive instructions from leader, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in writing.
  4. Previous experience in a customer service or food service role.
  5. High school diploma, GED or demonstrated commensurate experience.

  • Ability to remain on feet, standing and walking, for the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to maintain movement, bend, reach, lift and carry 40lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, web, voice, e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
