Employee Dishonesty Fidelity Claims Specialist

Job Summary:

Investigates, analyzes, negotiates and settles employee dishonesty, fidelity and crime claims not typically requiring outside investigation while delivering quality customer service in a medium volume, moderate complexity work environment.

Functions include but are not limited to the following:
  1. Investigation - Completes appropriate investigations, provides comprehensive analysis of coverage and loss amounts, negotiates and resolves crime, fidelity and employee dishonesty losses arising out of property casualty forms.   Complies with all local, state and federal regulations throughout the claims handling process.
  2. Evaluation/Damages - Determines the value of losses through the application of best practices and, at times, utilization of consultants or experts.  Obtains and reviews all necessary documentation to support loss evaluation.  Monitors ongoing case development for appropriateness of reserves. 
  3. Communication - Makes telephone contact, and maintains effective and ongoing written and verbal communications with all insureds, agents, attorneys, other insurance companies, representatives, vendors, and company personnel. 
  4. Claim File Quality - Responsible for ensuring that appropriate crime, fidelity and employee dishonesty investigations are performed and all relevant facts obtained to determine coverage, liability, compensability, and damages.
  5.  Vendor/Counsel Direction - Manages approved vendors and counsel utilized when necessary in the claim process, including approval of investigation plans and budgets.  Monitors, reviews and issues payments to vendors and counsel in accordance with guidelines and standards. 

Requirements:
 

  1. Ability to handle employee dishonesty, fidelity and crime claims with exposures up to $500,000.
  2. 3 or more years of claims handling experience involving employee dishonesty, fidelity and/or crime.
  3. 3 or more years of property casualty or bond claims handling experience.
  4. Forensic accounting or similar experience.
  5. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment and software packages.
  7. Strong critical analysis, organization, time management and negotiation skills.
  8. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  9. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that conforms to company standards. 
  10. Ability to travel
