Job Description:
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the casino premises and surrounding grounds, not limited to maintenance, plumbing, small equipment repair, painting, landscaping, and housekeeping. Schedules and coordinates work assignments, breaks, and days off.
  • Assigns tasks to workers and inspects the casino throughout the shift to assess workmanship, including regular periodic documented restroom inspections and completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Responds to radio or Spectra Link calls and ensures that all requests for labor and material are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that supplies and equipment are maintained and distributed in an efficient and responsible manner.
  • Ensures that staff is completing tasks in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable safety regulations and/or standards.
  • Trains and ensures team members are trained on job performance, casino standard practices, procedures, rules, regulations and department standards.
  • Instructs all team members on how to properly handle chemicals.
  • Ensures that all team members are aware of marketing and casino promotions and changes related to policies or procedures at the casino.
  • Timely responds and resolves guest inquiries and disputes/issues regarding housekeeping and maintenance works. Refers problems to shift manager as needed.
  • Maintains and forwards all necessary team member records as applicable.
  • Completes orders for repairs and set-ups.
  • Creates requisitions or purchases cleaning supplies and equipment.  Submits requirements to Director of Maintenance for approval.
  • May perform duties of workers supervised as needed.
  • Complies with applicable governmental laws and regulations.
  • Follows company and departmental policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Practices Viejas guest service standards and leads by example.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisor of Maintenance
  • Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review.
  • Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Monitors daily operations of a unit or sub-unit.
  • Works on issues of limited scope.
  • Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and loss of assets/money.
  • Interacts with internal and external guests.
  • Interacts daily with subordinates and/ or functional peer groups. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.
Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit. Generally supervises semi-skilled employees.
  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • California driver’s license.
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience in building construction, remodeling, or maintenance experience.
  • Management/leadership experience required.
