Greets and seats guests in the assigned dining areas. Handles cash transactions and operates cash register drawer properly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets and seats guests in the assigned dining areas. Operates cash register, gives change and balances cash drawer at the end of shift according to casino policies and procedures.
Assists servers, when appropriate, with drink orders or other customer requests.
Assist servers in bussing and resetting tables to department standards.
Stays current on various casino and VOC special events and promotions in order to respond to customer inquiries.
Assists in assigning servers and bussers designated areas on the dining floor.
When appropriate, works with food handlers and expediters in preparing To-Go orders; ensures that they are delivered efficiently and correctly.
Answers the telephone properly; responds to various inquiries and/or takes messages as appropriate.
Adheres to all Departmental policies and procedures.
Understands and practices good safety and sanitation procedures.
Practices Viejas Guest Service Standards while performing job duties and responsibilities.
Performs all related and compatible duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One or more years of related experience in a restaurant as a hostess and/or a cashier preferred.
Heavy cash handling and cash register experience required.
Good verbal communication skills required.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced area.
Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening.
Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
