Leading Landscape Maintenance Team
Plans and manages landscape operations including turf maintenance such as refuse/trash pick-up, irrigation systems repair and performs equipment repair.
Reviews and evaluates landscape team and their work; makes decisions and recommendation on personnel actions such as employment, promotion, demotion, retention and other matters.
Developing and Maintaining Budgets
Researches the usefulness and cost effectiveness of new equipment and products.
Approves the requisitioning of equipment and supplies.
Evaluates organization, operations, and maintenance services and makes recommendations to improve quality.
Responds to and resolves internal and external guests’ complaints in a timely manner.
Maintains and coordinates effective working relationships with staff.
Maintains knowledge of company information and promotions to answer guest inquiries.
General Office and Special Projects
Enforces operating procedures and work standards to ensure adequate performance and personnel safety.
Evaluates policy and procedure for operations and makes recommendations for changes.
Supports planning and development of new and existing facilities by developing landscape maintenance requirements; reviews plans and monitors construction processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Establishes operational objectives, workplans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers/supervisors.
Assists in developing, modifying and executing company policies thataffect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.
Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.
Interacts with internal and external guests.
Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
Manages the landscape maintenance team, with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
Provides guidance to team members to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
High school diploma or GED required.
Associates/Bachelors degree preferred.
Pesticide Application and Arborist Certification is highly desired.
California Driver’s License.
8 to 10 years of related experience in supervising grounds crews at commercial sites.
Management/leadership experience required
