X-Ray Service Technician

Provide in-house repair, calibration, inspection and preventative maintenance of radiological, diagnostic and imaging equipment in an effective and cost efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: radiology equipment, film processors, film loaders, imaging lasers, vascular labs, Electro Physiology labs, CT’s, non-invasive vascular labs, and photo copiers.
Participates in the department's equipment management plan and continues quality improvement activities, specific duties include: preventative maintenance and equipment repairs as needed.
Maintains inventory list of all equipment used or stored at multiple locations for Via Christi Health.
Provides documentation of preventive maintenance and repairs.
Performs calibration, compliance certification, quality assurance, inventory control, calibration and safety certification of imaging equipment and supporting utility systems.
Designs and discusses ideas and methods to reduce costs of hospital equipment.
Performs duties in a professional manner, providing clear communications to appropriate parties and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines.
May perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A) in electronics or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in electronics or military biomedical program is required.
Five plus years experience in radiology/imaging repair is required.
Prefer experience in GE, Siemens, and Phillips equipment.

Must display good verbal and written communication skills, and be able to professionally receive and follow oral instructions.
Proficient in use of all job related tools and test equipment.
Must have working knowledge of hazardous materials standards.

Common knowledge of inventory databases is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license. Insurable for driving a company vehicle (through Via Christi’s policy) as applicable to duty.
Clinical Equipment Tech or comparable certification required; or successfully attained within 3 years after date of hire.
Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist certification highly preferred.

Position Scope/Patient Population:
While performing the essential functions of this position, this position may have direct and or indirect contact with patients.
Specific scope of care and patient populations are identified in the Unit Specific Structure Standards.
This position is supervised under the Biomedical Department and will serve all radiology related areas to include: basic Radiology, CT, MRI, etc. This position will cover the Via Christi Hospital on East Harry; Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis; and Via Christi Hospital on St. Teresa.
