Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Manager, Banquet Beverage is the management of the Banquet Beverage Staff. To interpret the needs of the guests and see that these needs are met in a most aggressive, positive manner, which will prove to the guest that the Venetian is driven towards guest satisfaction by each and every employee they encounter.  To ensure that all guests are drinking responsibly and not over-indulging in alcoholic beverages. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Casino Resort’spolicies, practices, and procedures.
 
Job Requirements:
Minimum Employment Requirements: 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form, interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts, maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to VCR appearance standards, maintain consistent adherence to the VCR Unmatched Guest Service Standards, work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements: 3 years experience in banquet beverage service. Must be able to obtain required work cards. Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy, prioritize and organize, be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Follow directions thoroughly, understand guest’s service needs, work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training and direct performance of team members and follow up with corrections when needed.

Responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of the Banquet Beverage Department functions, in accordance with hotel standards. 
 
Directs, implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.
  1. Directly involved in all hiring procedures.
  2. Directly involved with team member performance reviews.
  3. Directly Involved in progressive discipline procedures up to and including terminations.
  4. Oversees schedules.
  5. Directly involved in purchasing procedures.
  6. Directly involved with monthly budgets and P&L statements.
  7. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  8. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  9. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  10. Conduct pre-function meeting with Team Members and review all information pertinent to set-up and service of group.
  11. Check bar set-ups for cleanliness, organization and agreement with group requirements and departmental standards; resolve any problems.
  12. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  13. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  14. Maintain complete knowledge of strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  15. Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness.  Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines. Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction. Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property.
