Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the BAR PORTER – SERVICE BAR is to provide unmatched customer service through the efficient and thorough completion of their tasks, including but not limited to: keeping all bar areas (from the waist down) clean, removal of trash, and helping in operation of the Pool Department in any other way. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

·          Provides unmatched service to guests at all times. Proactively seeks guest service opportunities to both internal and external guests.
·          Interacts with internal and external guests to make sure that all bar areas (from the waist down) are clean, presentable and inviting.
·          Responsible for trash removal from bars and restaurants in not only a timely manner but also in a manner which does not dull the Venetian experience for the guests. Must follow a cleaning schedule with little supervision.
·          Responsible for ensuring that the bar areas comply with Clark County Health Codes and Venetian Standards. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Works in an appropriate non-hazardous manner avoiding self injury and unsafe work methods.
·          Understands proper hand washing procedures
·          Knowledge of correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations & hotel requirements. Must be regularly checked by supervisor to ensure proper handling of equipment and proper lifting techniques.
·          Ability to complete supply order sheets accurately. Responsible for reporting maintenance deficiencies in a timely manner.
·          Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquires and is knowledgeable about all aspects of the Venetian Casino Resort services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
·          Perform additional duties as directed by management.
Job Requirements:

Minimum Employment Requirements: 21 Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.  Must be able to maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, in person, over the phone, on the radio, and outside contacts. Must possess the ability to access all areas of the facility, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel without restriction. Must maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment in accordance to Clark County Health Code Standards. Must be willing to work outdoors in seasonal heat (100F+) or cold as well as inclement weather. Responsible for completing supply order sheets and reporting any maintenance deficiencies. Physical ability to access all areas of the property. Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, fumes and/or odors, around chemicals, under variable temperature conditions. Be able to lift or carry a minimum of 50lbs unassisted. Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner.   Must be able to address stressful situations with guests with dignity and the utmost tack and politeness. Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness and disposal methods.years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form, interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts, maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to VCR appearance standards, maintain consistent adherence to the VCR Unmatched Guest Service Standards, work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements: Must possess a minimum of one year experience as a Food & Beverage Busser in a high volume setting required. One year experience cleaning in a bar operation setting preferred. Must be able to obtain Health, and TAM cards. Have a basic knowledge of attractions/restaurants in the Las Vegas area and provided by the Venetian.
