Job Description:
 Theprimaryresponsibilityof theFood & Beverage Supervisor is to manage the daily operations of the beverage administration department and Bar outlets during their assigned shift. Duties include but are not limited to supervising, delegating and working with service personnel to ensure high quality of beverage service, proper beverage and labor costs, and a safe, sanitary environment. Will be required to train and develop Bartender and Barporter service staff.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Sands Bethlehem policies, practices, and procedures.

 
  • Be able to successfully coordinate staff and resources in high volume, time sensitive environments.
  • Have a genuine desire to lead the team in producing high quality products in a number of different concepts.
  • Supervise the bartender and Barporter staff.
  • Be able to train, develop and evaluate beverage staff on proper techniques, knowledge and skills.
  • Must possess knowledge of all aspects of running a number of different beverage outlets, budgeting, taking inventory, forecasting, proper ordering and receiving, staff management, etc.
  • Responsible for beverage menus, drink recipe development.
  • Must schedule service staff to ensure consistent labor costs.
  • Be able to quickly set par levels to maintain consistent beverage cost.
  • Have a complete understanding of Pennsylvania liquor laws.
  • Must be able to physically handle working on your feet for 10 or more hours in one day.
  • Must have full working knowledge of Infogenesis POS system.
  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and approved Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem standards.

  • Ensure divisional/departmental compliance with Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem Standards of Steel customer service standards.
  • Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers in compliance with the Sands’ Standards of Steel Customer Service Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and overall property policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board internal controls.
  • Responsible for divisional or departmental compliance with all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board rules and regulations.
  • Plan, develop and direct staffing, training and supervision for all division or department team members.
  • Develops and fosters an environment of teamwork and interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Responsible for the timely evaluation of all direct reports and conducting introductory period and annual performance reviews.
  • Maintains an open door policy and addresses all team member issues and/or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Conducts divisional/departmental staff meetings at least once per month.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by management.

 Manage staff and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines. Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments. Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary). Evaluate the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality. Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures
 
Job Requirements:
 MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:18 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form, interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts, maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Sands Bethlehem appearance standards, maintain consistent adherence to the Sands Bethlehem Standards of Steel, work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
 
SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 2 years experience in a managerial position of an upscale and/or high volume food & beverage service establishments.  Beverage management experience preferred. Ability to fluently read, write and understand English. Must be able to obtain a ServSafe certificate. Must possess or be able to obtain a Responsible Alcohol Management Program (RAMP) certification card. Must have the ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Should possess a strong familiarity with beverage cost controls. Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines. Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work minimum 50 hours a week, holidays and weekends. Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board License.
 
Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 20 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned. Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives. Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner. Must be able to address stressful situations with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness. Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods
