Full/Part Time Status:
Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of business and leisure travel arrangements and services for employees using a Corporate Travel on-line reservation system. Assists in the development of policies and procedures regarding the handling of business and leisure travel arrangements. Responsible for the corporate travel department’s credit card charges averaging over $100,000 per month.
Streamlines the travel reservation process by ensuring that reservations for business and leisure air travel, car rentals and overnight accommodations are accurate and that itineraries, tickets and instructions are forwarded to employees on a timely basis.
Analyzes travel services provided by vendors and recommends changes as appropriate. Assists in negotiating travel contracts with national air carriers, car rental, food and lodging companies for specific arrangements (conventions, etc.) and general business travel.
Monitors and reports on daily Queue-value count using the PC-travel software on-line reservation system. Updates all employee travel profiles.
Oversees contract travel worker and travel department clerk on a daily basis.
May include duties as assigned by Management.
Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Ability to work on an USX site or USX customer location site while performing the essential functions of this position.
Must maintain ARC certification.
Key Knowledge and Experience
Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma.
Certificate in Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) for Corporate Travel departments.
Previous experience in the travel field.
Ability to assist in negotiating contracts and manage vendor relationships.
Ability to interact with multiple levels of management and the public.
