Position Purpose

Provide and supervise nightly coverage from the hours of 1800-0600 for 95% of dedicated accounts. This includes driver, office and customer related issues. Create a sense of partnership between the customer and USX.  Assist with outbound trailer checks when necessary.  Account Manager must adhere to all USX policies and procedures while meeting customer commitment. A good understanding of the distribution process must be present to be successful.  Performs job performance evaluations and takes necessary actions to assure employees are working at capacity.  Customer service and on-time delivery are the main goals to achieve.


Job Functions


  • Maintaining driver relationship during extended hours.

  • Managing office staff personnel during extended hours

  • Interviewing applicants.

  • Providing recommendations for hiring and termination.

  • Training and assigning work to new employees

  • Reviewing employee’s work and performance

  • Conducting performance reviews

  • Giving written and verbal warnings when necessary

  • Ensuring on-time service as well as consistent updates on ETA.

  • Tracking and trace loads while in route to destination.

  • Documenting and communicate all service related issues.

  • Assisting with outbound trailer checks

  • Revising policies or procedures for other employee’s or departments

  • Remaining on call to address work related issues

  • Maintaining proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.

  • May include other duties as assigned by Management


Key Knowledge and Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • 5-7+ years of retail or logistics experience

  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations

  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills: Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills.

  • Must be able to adapt to policy and operational changes

  • Willing to get involved and be assertive

  • Working knowledge of AS400, Infinium, Cisco Communicator, TMW & QTOPS
