JOB DESCRIPTION:


Position Purpose

Responsible for managing and developing all business for assigned accounts.  Responsible for all matters related to the account.  These could include, but not be limited to resolving customer service issues or complaints, and shipments to meet the customer’s needs and demands.  Responsible for working with our sales group to develop new business that fits into our network. Track and work with the accounts to receive all assigned lanes and commitment levels from all shipping locations.  

 

Job Functions

 




  • Equipment Utilization.


  • Manages all aspects related to drivers.


  • Manages office staff personnel.


  • Provides on-time service.


  • Matches power with customer shipping needs.


  • Assures all fleet maintenance programs are current on tractors and trailers.


  • Accounts for all shipments via a weekly service report.


  • Documents and communicates all service related issues.


  • Calculates weekly rate per mile for all outbound shipments.


  • Analyzes volume figures to forecast surges in business.


  • Develops a sense of trust and integrity with the customer.


  • Reviews all credit, collection and aging reports increase cash flow.


  • Reconciles daily inbound bill schedule.


  • Coordinates lot checks and review for stale trailers.


  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.


  • May include other duties as assigned by Management.



 

Key Knowledge and Experience

 




  • Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a two year degree.


  • 2-5+ years in-depth high volume field operational experience (depends on location/account).


  • Superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills: Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills.


  • Extreme patience dealing with volatile situations: flawless follow-up procedures.


  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations.


  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel


  • Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills.
