Weekday - Nights
Full/Part Time Status:
Perform basic or minor repairs on brakes, tires and wiring
Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers
Check vehicle fluids; transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.
Perform vehicle oil changes
Change vehicle tires
Grease mechanical parts
Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Ability to work on an USX site or USX customer location site while performing the essential functions of this position.
Other duties as assigned
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred
Computer experience preferred
General mechanical aptitude
Informal or formal experience working on vehicles
Desire to learn tractor and trailer maintenance
Valid drivers license required
Must provide own 260 piece mechanic tool set along with a test light, adjustable pliers, needle nose pliers, channel locks (20.25 in.), and wire cutters/strippers/crimpers
Ability to stand for long periods of time supporting full body weight
Ability to walk 1000 feet minimum and change positions frequently
Ability to frequently move shoulders with full range of motion in all six planes of movement
Ability to reach heights over 72” frequently; ability to crouch to height of 18” frequently
Ability to reach and stretch across the midline with full cervical range of motion and bilateral range of motion
Constant fingering and feeling to use wrenches and sockets
Ability to stoop to 30” minimum and kneel to 18” minimum
Ability to climb at least 51” and step 24” with and without a hand hold
Ability to pull self up ladder with 4x17”steps with upper body
