JOB DESCRIPTION:


Position Purpose

Promote current job vacancies through effective interaction with potential applicant pools, driving schools, colleges, employment agencies, internet sites, etc. to produce driver candidate pools in a group or one-on-one atmosphere within a define geographic territory. 

 

Job Functions

 




  • Seek out, screen and interview applicants to fill existing openings while maintaining current knowledge of transportation rules and regulations as well as the U. S. Xpress hiring guidelines.


  • Build applicant sources by giving presentations weekly at driving schools, researching and contacting colleges, employment agencies, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; maintaining rapport.


  • Develops and maintains relationships with schools and prospective drivers based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads trade shows purchasing contacts or other sources.


  • Travels regularly within the specified geographic area to call upon regular and prospective driving schools to solicit drivers and talks with schools by phone.


  • Provide driver applicants with USX job openings; Inform applicants about operations, benefits, pay, OTR and dedicated opportunities.


  • Schedules recruiting activities at truck stops, hotels and driver training schools.


  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; and comparing qualifications to job requirements.


  • Extend a conditional offer to potential applicants who meet USX qualifications and DOT guidelines.


  • Assist Recruiting Processor with entering driver information in Xpress Recruiter or Recruiting database to ensure driver meets guidelines.


  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.


  • May include other duties as assigned by Management.



 

Key Knowledge and Experience

 




  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years direct experience in Recruiting, Sales or related area. Transportation Field Recruiting experience preferred. 


  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite.


  • Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma. 


  • Good written and oral communication skills required.  Ability to interact with personnel in all departments in all levels.


  • Public speaking experience preferred.
