JOB DESCRIPTION:

Irving Coppell Surgical Hospital is seeking a Registration Technician for our Emergency Room  to serve as a Temporary Employee while one of our current employees if out on maternity leave of absence. 

Irving Coppell Surgical Hospital is a surgical hospital, with a 3-Room Emergency Department, 7-Operating Rooms, and 12-Inpatient beds. We are owned and operated by United Surgical Partners International, a company that specializes in the development and operation of Surgical Hospital and ASC Facilities in the U.S. and the UK. We provide first-class service for local communities and recognize our employees as our number one assets. 

This is a working Patient Registration Tech position, in our Emergency Department for three-12 hour shifts, 7pm-7am, the exact days will vary some from week to week.

This individual will interface with patients and families, physicians and staff. You will admit patients and process all paperwork. Update patient demographics/information into our Patient Accounting System. Verify Insurance benefits and determine any patient portion due at time of visit. Collect monies due and document in billing system. Handle funds per hospital internal controls process. You have the opportunity to meet new people and build professional relationships with physician and other clinical staff. Cross training for other duties that will support other departments.

 
There is additional pay for evening and weekend shifts worked. 
 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
*High school graduate or equivalent.
*Two years previous experience or some hospital non-clinical experience or medical terminology preferred.
*Previous Supervisory/Lead Experience required
*Familiar with managed care, Medicaid and Medicare insurance plans.
*Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties. *Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
*Proficient in Microsoft Word products.
*Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
*Good communication skills
*Excellent communication and verbal skills
