Jr. Web Designer

This is a highly interactive, high-visibility, hands-on position which will work with all internal departments and external online marketing vendors.

Reporting to the Director of Online Media, the role of the Web Designer will be to work on specific online marketing campaigns that will deliver continuous optimization, presence, and growth online.


Responsibilities include:

-  Designs, develops, and executes unique website design comps, email marketing designs, and intranet sites.

-  Creatively conveys a message with graphics, typography and usability best practices.

-  Plans web design by clarifying goals; designing functionality.

-  Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists.

-  Designs web-friendly images, icons, banners, social media and other forms of rich media.

-  Updates site content and graphics; monitors performance and results; identifies and evaluates improvement options; introduces new technology; maintains links.

-  Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

-  Has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

-  Has programming experience using systems, databases, and languages developed within the .NET framework.

-  2 years experience in ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.

-  Has general knowledge and experience in online marketing techniques (don't worry...you'll learn plenty).

-  Knowledge of C#VB.net, SEO, and Web Analytics is a plus.

-  Understands the traditional graphic arts and also has a passion for web design.

-  Has passion, drive, initiative, and accountability.  A desire to play a key role in helping to drive the team forward.

-  Must have strong organizational skills, be very detail-oriented and mission-accomplish focused.

-  Has exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills-able to capture key information, relate it to others and take action when needed.

-  Able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal direction.

-  Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Visual Studio, Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and other graphics and coding tools.

-  Has knowledge of layout, typography, image optimization, branding and general good design standards for the web.

-  Has a strong understanding and practical experience with CSS standards, hand-coded HTML, and object-oriented design.

-  Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, keep momentum on each and manage to project due dates.

- Computer proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

-  Must have a sense of humor.
