JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director will strategize at all levels of the organization to accomplish goals that drive and support revenue, vision and improve performance through the effective management of data and quality system solutions.  Interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work with a diverse team are keys to the success of this position.
The Director of Information & Development will oversee the definition, design, and implementation of system solutions.  The ability to communicate in non-technical terms in necessary as direct interaction with business stakeholders, executives, and CoStars occurs frequently.  Previous experience in information management, coding and implementing application systems is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
 MAJOR JOB DUTIES: 
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Build databases to meet customer requirements, evaluate and process client data feeds, generate production deliverables, and provide backup for client technical support.
  • Become familiar with client-supplied data and with internally developed tools used to assess data quality and build databases.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues and escalate situations according to department processes.
  • Design, maintain, execute, and document system tests and requirements validation tests; support user acceptance testing as needed.
  • Interact and collaborate with internal clients to understand data specifications and resolve data quality issues.
  • Consistently deliver usable databases on time and within budget while conforming to client expectations for content and quality.
  • Define and document governance policy and procedures for information management.
  • Coordinate product design, development, testing and implementation for executing business requirements.
  • Provide Enterprise Data Management subject matter expertise across product portfolios.
  • Coordinate Data Analysts user groups.
  • Define and champion data management curriculum.  Provide / coordinate end user training.
  • Keep current on technical developments in the area of data management.
  • Provide architectural and technical guidance for Project and Product Management
  • Ensure sound engineering design, process, and quality practices are followed
  • Oversee delivery and implementation of systems and processes
  • Coordinate the design of system architecture with vendors and other IT departments
  • Work with the Product and Project Managers to insure that vendor systems meet the needs of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
  • Meet and work with Business Stakeholders, Executives, and CoStars to insure all expectations of new or modified systems are met
  • Participate with client community to accurately define requirements
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as required in the review, selection, and support for new technologies and tools.
  • Identify and implement technologies for ongoing database scalability, monitoring and performance improvement
  • Mentor all IT CoStars in proper procedures and front line operations to insure understanding of requested additions and changes
  • Serve as escalation point for various issues

  • Ability to communicate to non-technical Co-Stars, and translate their business and process needs into information requirements. The position assumes technical acumen and is suited for a individual who desires to make a significant impact on how the company functions. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a coordinating role across multiple disciplines, a strong, open and collaborative work style, a customer-service orientation with the ability to translate business goals into information management requirements, and experience negotiating contracts with IT vendors and consultants.

EXPERIENCE:   
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a resort IT management role. 
  • Must have experience in planning, architecting, and delivering mission-critical enterprise-grade systems and solutions. 
  • Experience working closely with Project Stakeholders, Executive Management, and front line CoStars to determine requirements and needs. 
  • Must have experience in supervising a staff of 5 or more people across a variety of disciplines. 
  • Must be experienced with 24x7 operations. 
  • Casino and Hotel Systems operational experience is preferred.
 
EDUCATION:   
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
 
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:   Nevada Gaming Card is required
