As a Banquet Bar Porter, you will be one part cocktail connoisseur and two parts guest service guru, throwing your charismatic personality straight into the social mix. Your ready smile and ability to anticipate the needs of others will support your teammates, helping create an energetic atmosphere to lift guests’ spirits.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
Provides prompt, courteous service to guests while maintaining a friendly and pleasant atmosphere at the bar
Provides quality service to both internal and external guests, specifically maintaining established quality standards for timely food and beverage
Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting with the proper verbiage: “Good morning, afternoon, or evening, thank you, ma’am/sir, may I?”
Provides exceptional service that differentiates us from the competition
Demonstrate full knowledge of service bars and keep bars properly stocked and cleaned
Helps other bar CoStars when needed
Performs side work and other cleaning and organizing
Checks with manager before shift ends
Makes every effort to learn guest names and uses names to say , “Mr. or Mrs. Smith”
Maintains company-issue uniform in good condition and reports to work in authorized uniform as mandated by organization. This includes maintaining a clean and well-groomed appearance in compliance with departmental and company dress code standards
Must provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and CoStars
Performs related work as requested.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to perform basic and intermediate math
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Ability to present self in a professional, pleasant, confident and well groomed manner
Ability to work, effectively with co-workers, other department CoStars and guests
Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures
Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
Must have a minimum of six months previous experience in a bar, lounge or full service restaurant. Banquet experience is preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent
