JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the Pastry/pantry, hot line, prep and production, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen.  


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MAJOR JOB DUTIES: 
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
 

  • Sets up station according to bakery-pastry shop guidelines.
  • Prepares all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Seeks out ways to provide additional assistance and service to all guests, co-stars and management
  • Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the bakery-pastry shop management.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
  • Cleans and maintains work area, practice good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
  • Have an understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
  • Performs additional responsibilities, as requested by the Pastry Chef, Pastry Sous Chef or Pastry Chef Tournant at any time.

  • Able to take direction.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment,
  • Must possess a passion for the industry and assisting to maintain a team in collaborative environment.
  • Must possess the disposition to have fun at work and display that spirit to our guests
  • Ability to develop, lead, maintain, and enhance guest relations through personalized experience and unscripted guest interactions
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Must have problem solving abilities and be self-motivated and organized.
  • Possess a commitment to quality service.
  • Knowledge of basic food and beverage concepts.
  • Possess basic knowledge in all areas of pastry production including baking, mixing and plating

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 
Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills; safety, sanitation and food handling procedures. Previous prep or line Pastry/cook experience.
 
EDUCATION: 
College or culinary training or Pastry/cooking or equivalent work experience.
 
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: 
Health Card, TAM Card, ServSafe
