Job Title:   Buffet Production Cook

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides guests with food products by measuring, chopping, slicing, dicing, cooking, sautéing, frying, baking, steaming, marinating, and preparing food items according to recipes and production sheets. - 40%
  2. Ensures buffet food products meet established standards by setting up the buffet at the beginning of the meal period, replenishing food, cutlery, and china, portioning desserts and condiments, breaking down the buffet at the end of the meal period, storing foods and cleaning areas according to established procedures. - 30%
  3. Maintains a safe and sanitary cooking area by checking the temperature and freshness of food, rotating food items as needed, and cooling and storing food product according to established procedures. - 20%
  4. Assists Chefs, Sous Chefs and Cooks by completing assigned tasks as needed. - 10%

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Ability to prepare menu items from recipes
  • Ability to prepare wide range of food products
  • Ability to perform mathematical equations
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to bend and stoop
  • Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to interact guest population
  • Ability to appear for work on time

Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Current food handler card
  • 6 months cooking experience in a high volume commercial kitchen

  • Culinary degree
