Job Title:   Resort Hotel Housekeeping Lead
Sycuan Resort


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time) 

  1. Cleans and sanitizes hotel guest rooms by gathering and inspecting linens for quality and cleanliness, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting and polishing room furnishings, sweeping balconies, wiping outdoor furnishings, and replenishing drinking glasses, towels, soap and supplies following established procedures. - 30%
  2. Ensures the cleanliness of hotel, spa and office restrooms by cleaning sinks, toilets, mirrors, wiping shelves, refilling toilet paper, paper towels and other sundries, replacing trash liners, mopping floors, and disposing of trash and other debris as required. - 30%
  3. Maintains adequate supply of cleaning supplies and paper goods in bathrooms and satellite storage cabinets by auditing inventory, retrieving necessary supplies and paper goods, storing supplies, keeping work carts orderly with supplies, ensuring equipment is in good working order before and after use, and completing inventory sheets following established procedures. - 20%
  4. Assists the Resort Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor by training housekeepers, instructing staff on departmental policies and procedures, monitoring team member performance, conducting visual cleanliness inspections of guest rooms, providing guidance and training to team members as needed, and reporting out of compliance behaviors to the Resort Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor. - 20%

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to read in the English language
  • Ability to provide guidance to staff
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, kneel and bend
  • Ability to appear for work on time
  • Ability to complete forms
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written direction
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism

Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:

  • 3 years housekeeping and/or custodial experience  
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Supervisory experience
  •  Resort housekeeping experience
