Job Title:   Resort Food and Beverage Supervisor
Sycuan Resort

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
  1. Supervises Resort Food and Beverage activities and staff by attending organizational and departmental meetings, providing pertinent information to assigned personnel, collaborating with the Resort Food and Beverage Manager to create staff schedules based on business needs, supervising and monitoring team member production, and working off site events when necessary. -50%
  2. Promotes guest service by monitoring guest service for efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring guests are being serviced in a professional and timely manner, speaking with guests as needed to improve guest relations, resolving guest issues, processing voids and/or check corrections, ensuring food and supplies are ordered and stocked, regulating food product utilization, assigning duties to staff, and following up on guest service concerns as required. - 20%
  3. Develops team members by providing guidance and instruction, identifying training needs, conducting performance appraisals, and providing counseling, guidance and corrective action as needed. - 10%
  4. Maintains safe and sanitary kitchen and storage areas by monitoring sanitation duties of staff, helping to ensure all work areas are clean, ensuring the team members complete cleaning duties and comply with all safety rules. - 10%
  5. Ensures product and labor costs are within established guidelines by keeping informed of annual productivity goals, viewing profit and loss statements, collaborating with the Resort Food and Beverage Manager to ensure staffing needs are met, food freshness is maintained, and product waste is reduced. - 5%
  6. In the absence of the Resort Food and Beverage Manager, assists the Food and Beverage Department by performing Manager duties and responsibilities as required. - 5%
Job Specifications:
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to prepare a wide range of food products
  • Ability to create recipes and menus
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts
  • Ability to apply creative concepts to food preparation and presentations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull 
  • Multi-lingual

Direct:          Restaurant Server, Snack and Beverage Cart Server, Hotel Room Server, Restaurant Busser, Lounge Server, Restaurant Host/Hostess, Lounge Bartender
Indirect:        All Resort Food and Beverage Team Members 

Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Food handlers card
  • 1 year food service experience
  • 1 year supervisory experience 
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Culinary degree
  •  Completion of Sycuans Supervisory Certificate Program
