Resort Hotel Houseperson



Job Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
  1. Provides janitorial support to Guest Room Attendantsby removing soiled linen and trash from the room attendant carts and vacated rooms, replenishing supplies in guest rooms, cleaning stained carpets in guest rooms, cleaning and maintaining common areas around the hotel, cleaning and maintaining hallways, and cleaning unoccupied rooms as needed. - 85%
  2. Provides clean linensby loading washers with soiled laundry, adding soap and bleach as appropriate, loading dryers with clean laundry, removing dry laundry from dryers, folding laundry and storing in designated areas. – 10%
  3. Maintains a safe work area by keeping storage areas and housekeeping closets clean, organized, and clear of debris. – 5%

    Skills and Knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals
    • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
    • Ability to read in the English language
    • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a time
    • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs
    • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs up and down stairs
    • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
    • Ability to reach, kneel and bend
    • Ability to appear for work on time
    • Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:

  • 1 year resort housekeeping experience  
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Housekeeping experience in a casino or hotel environment
