Job Title:   Hotel Operations Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

  1. Maintains efficient operation of hotel activities by scheduling and assigning duties to personnel based on business volume, instructing staff on correct departmental policies and procedures, supervising and training Front Desk Reservation Agents, providing guidance and direction as needed, monitoring sales, tracking room occupancy, identifying no show vacancies, assisting Hotel Operations Manager with revenue and occupancy forecasting, recordkeeping, end-of-month reconciliation, spa commission and transportation waybill processing, and creating purchase orders and processing hotel related invoices. - 40% 
  2. Provides guest service excellence by supplying guests with hotel room information, processing swift and efficient registrations, initiating and fostering positive guest relations, reviewing and resolving guest disputes, responding to guest needs and requests, and fostering an attentive, courteous, and professional atmosphere. - 20%
  3. Maintains integrity of hotel revenue by reviewing staff cash handling, posting, and source codes, following up on returned checks, rejected credit cards, team member discrepancies, and online travel agent commissions, documenting, organizing and filing purchases, vouchers, reports and tracking logs, and researching discrepancies in collaboration with accounting department. - 15%

    Skills and Knowledge:
    Essential:
     
    • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members
    • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to staff members
    • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
    • Ability to perform data entry assignments                           
    • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
    • Ability to compose written documents in the English language
    • Ability to complete forms and documents and written reports
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Ability to evaluate problems encountered on the job and make sound judgments
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
    • Ability to sit or stand for up to eight hours at a time
    • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
    • Ability to accept constructive criticism
    • Ability to appear for work on time
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
     
    Desirable:
     
    • Working knowledge of Springer Miller tracking system
    • Multi-lingual

Education and Experience:

Essential:
  • Associate's Degree or 2 years progressive Hotel Operations experience
  • 3 years hospitality/lodging experience
  • Supervisory experience
Desirable:
  • Bachelor's Degree
