Summary: Coordinates and sells banquets for the event center at Rivers Casino Philadelphia

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for generating annual budgets, forecasts, post analysis, billing and cost summaries.
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of the local catering market including group, corporate, wedding and social markets.
  • Possesses a book of business containing clients with whom professional relationships have been established.
  • Seeks out new catering business to achieve revenue goals, using networking and client relation skills.
  • Establishing and maintaining of relationships with industry influencers, local community and key strategic partners.
  • Preservation of existing accounts through networking and communications to meet, and exceed, revenue goals.
  • Monitors all contractual agreements pertaining to meeting space, food and beverage and special concession.
  • Partners with banquet leaders to manage and development event staff.
  • Overseeing of events from the initial booking through successful completion.
  • Operates with the venue’s best interest in mind.
  • Maintains high sanitation and safety standards meeting all required regulatory standards including but not limited to the Health Department, OSHA, FSLA, etc.
  • Provides oversight to ensure all banquet events effectively maximize sales potential and deliver 100% guest satisfaction Ensures Guest Service Standards are met consistently.
  • Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established appearance policy.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and comfortable environment at all times.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.



  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least six years of catering sales or related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to analyze, resolve problems and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
  • Ability to work successfully without direct supervision.
  • A dynamic, enthusiastic and creative personality who thrives under pressure.
  • The ability to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
  • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software.
  • Flexible availability that includes weekends and holidays.
  • The ability to obtain and retain all required licenses.


Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to walk, stand, see, talk, hear, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms.
  • The ability to stoop and kneel. 
  • The strength to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
