Assistant Casino Controller

Assist the Corporate Casino Controller in managing the Revenue Audit and Count Team Operations for the Golden Nevada Casinos. Assist in coordinating regulatory, external, and internal audits and acting as liaison with such regulatory agencies as the Nevada Gaming Control Board and the Internal Revenue Service. 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, develop, measure performance, and discipline department staff within Count Room and Revenue Audit departments
  • Provide operational leadership for the Count Room departments
  • Assist the Corporate Casino Controller in the creation, development, and implementation of an effective strategy of organization for areas of responsibility
  • Assist the Corporate Casino Controller in developing audit and accounting systems for Revenue Audit and the different revenue streams; drive the day to day systems
  • Produce Internal Control Submissions to the Nevada Gaming Control Board
  • Provide leadership for the month-end closing process in Revenue Audit
  • Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership
  • Review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts assigned to the Revenue Audit department
  • Assist with preparing the monthly minimum bankroll reports
  • Assist reviewing all tax returns (City/County and State) prior to submission to Accounts Payable
  • Assist in the transition and development of new properties into the Golden Accounting department
  • Coordinate and assist in all Gaming and Internal Audits at the properties
  • Research and provide response to Casino Controller regarding findings for Internal Audit and the Gaming Control Board
  • Assist in documenting fixed asset requests to executive management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Three to Five years within a management position in Casino Accounting
  • Internal Audit background preferred
  • Knowledge of Casino systems, Hotel systems, and Food and Beverage systems
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service
  • Previous experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
  • Must be accurate and efficient with high attention to detail
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and individual and group presentation communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with large groups of people in a business or community environment
  • Able to effectively organize materials, set priorities, and provide feedback or follow up
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high-paced, busy environment
  • Must have excellent computer skills (experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States
