SURVEILLANCE MAINTENANCE TECH

Description:

 

Position Summary

Maintain surveillance system/network which includes but not limited to installing cameras; pulling and terminating network cabling; ensures proper operation of networked switches, cameras and associated surveillance equipment by using established troubleshooting procedures and conducting preventative maintenance.  Provide end-user support in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Surveillance Maintenance Technician Supervisor. 

 

Will also report, as required, to the Surveillance Manager and Executive Director

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Installs surveillance cameras and associated equipment.
  2. Responsible for the maintenance of all surveillance equipment.
  3. Pulls above-ceiling cabling for new camera installs as required.
  4. Troubleshoots equipment, following established procedures and industry best-practices to maintain proper operation.
  5. Recommends to the Surveillance Maintenance Supervisor and Surveillance Manager, any required installations or replacements of surveillance equipment.
  6. Recommends to the Surveillance Maintenance Supervisor and Surveillance Manager, any needed tools or accessories to keep equipment functioning.
  7. Maintains official log of equipment maintenance activity.
  8. Completes daily activity report.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of duties, reports, investigations and any other departmental information, at all times.
  10. Works within, adheres to, and contributes to the established operational chain of command.   

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides end-user support for surveillance software platform.
  2. Provides emergency on-call support on a scheduled basis.
  3. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  2. Ability to analyze issues with complex networked systems and provide acceptable solutions.
  3. Ability to identify and utilize both hand tools and power tools.
  4. Ability to use required personal protective equipment.
  5. Ability to pass a vision test, eye sight correctable to 20/20 and have no color blindness.
  6. Ability to write comprehensive and detailed reports, as required.
  7. Ability to learn, understand, and follow NIGC Regulations, Surveillance Standard Operating Procedures and Sandia Casino Internal Controls.
  8. Ability to make decisions under stressful conditions.
  9. Ability to work odd and unusual hours.
  10. Ability to pass a stringent criminal and credit background investigation.
  11. Working knowledge of the following systems or applications is preferred:
  1. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook – 2007 or newer)
  2. Microsoft Windows 7
  3. Networking protocols

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  2. Two (2) years of video surveillance installation and repair experience

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Ability to work odd and unusual hours.
  2. Being on call when needed.
  3. Work in a smoking environment.
  4. Work indoors (subject to stale air).
  5. Work outdoors (subject to working in bad weather- rain, snow wind, etc.)
  6. Stand for long periods of time.
  7. Work, on a suspended platform about thirty feet above the floor.
  8. Able to work on a twelve (12) to sixteen (16) foot step ladder.
  9. Able to work in a confined work space.
  10. Duties involve climbing steps, long periods of walking or sitting, kneeling, and crouching, for extended periods of time.
  11. Ability to lift, above shoulder height, fifty (50) pounds.
  12. Duties may involve climbing, walking, kneeling, sitting, and crouching.
  13. Specific required movements include the following: 
  • Trunk-bend, twist, carry
  • Arms-reach, carry, lift, twist, rotate
  • Legs-push, twist, rotate
  • Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, extensive eye and hand coordination, finger and overall dexterity.
