POKER FLOOR PERSON

Description:

Position Summary

Under limited supervision while working with management to develop goals and objectives in the Poker Room.  Provides leadership and motivation to staff at all levels to ensure a consistent and professional corporate image.

Supervision Exercised

Supervised by the Poker Shift Supervisor, and Poker Manager.

 

Supervises employees as assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees total operation of the assigned gaming areas.
  2. Monitors, enforce and comply with all dealing procedures.
  3. Must have a total understanding of procedure manual for games supervised.
  4. Responsible for dealing rotation.
  5. Must comply with Sandia Resort and Casino System of Internal Controls.
  6. Responsible for protecting all sensitive equipment.
  7. Responsible for all attendance tracking.
  8. Provides excellence in customer service and ensures same of employees.
  9. Trains and helps develop supervisor’s skills.
  10. Must make “gray area” decisions.
  11. Counsels, coaches and works with dealers on procedural problems and initiates corrective action if necessary.
  12. Deals effectively with customer problems/complaints.
  13. Maintains proper impress bank for all games.
  14. Serves as role model for subordinates.
  15. Responsible for tournaments, jackpots and promotions.
  16. Tracks and promotes Player’s Card memberships.
  17. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

  1. Ability to supervise and direct the work of employees.
  2. Ability to plan and implement work schedules.
  3. Ability to deal effectively with the public.
  4. Ability to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and overtime.
  5. Ability to exercise personnel management practices, to be firm in dealing with employees and exhibit a strong motivational commitment to the organization.
  6. Ability to write and prepare standard reports and documents.
  7. Knowledge of all Poker Room game rules and regulations.
  8. Ability to administer proper procedures/payouts for bad beat jackpots.
  9. Ability to administer all procedures for tournaments.
  10. Knowledge of timekeeping systems such as Kronos.
  11. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Two (2) years poker dealing experience.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
