HOST/HOSTESS - BIEN SHUR

Description:

Position Summary

Welcome patrons, seats them at tables and helps ensure quality of facilities and service.

Supervision Exercised

Reports directly to the Bien Shur Restaurant & Lounge Manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs.
  2. Direct patrons to coatrooms and waiting areas such as lounges.
  3. Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
  4. Inform patrons of establishment specialties and features.
  5. Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
  6. Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.
  7. Provide guests with menus.
  8. Maintains clientele’s proper dress code standards.
  9. Receive and record patrons' dining reservations.

  1. Must have excellent customer service skills.
  2. Must be able to communicate with customers, management and other staff.
  3. Must demonstrate a pleasant disposition in person and over the phone.
  4. Must have good organizational skills.
  5. Must possess basic computer skills.
  6. Displays strong menu knowledge.
  7. Must maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. One (1) year previous experience in a high volume customer service position
  2. Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Preferred:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
  3. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License within 30 days of hire date.

Working Conditions

  1. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  2. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  3. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
