SYSTEMS ANALYST MANAGER

Description:

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing and managing all Resort and Casino’s Gaming, Financial, Resort, Human Resource Systems, and affiliated hardware. Provides Strategic direction, determines business requirements, conduct’s process analysis and prioritization. Ensures reliability, availability, and security of the Casino and Resort Operational Data.  Promotes and exhibits World Class Guest Service to all the Sandia Resort and Casino employees and guests.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Director of Information Technology (IT).

 

Oversees the System Analyst area within the Information Technology (IT) department for the Pueblo of Sandia and its enterprises.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manages Gaming System Analysts, System Analysts II, Tribal Government Systems Analyst II for Gaming, Resort, Financial, and Tribal positions. Initiates and administers supervisory employment actions and responsibilities in accordance with the Sandia Resort and Casino’s policies, SOPs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining of employees; promoting, demoting, and reassigning employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
 
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Designs, implements, administers corporate application systems and performs advanced level support.
  2. Ensures the integrity, functionality, and security of all assigned applications.
  3. Responsible for ensuring 100% compliance with system backup and internal controls including regular monitoring of backup jobs for success, failures, and/or problem mitigation.
  4. Responsible for all systems to assure proper controls are in place and being followed.
  5. Excellent technical skills, attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
  6. Develop and maintain application security policies and procedures.
  7. Evaluates existing business application systems effectiveness and capabilities to ensure adherence with organizational goals and objectives.
  8. Researches and recommends new application systems and upgrades.
  9. Manages the daily activities and responsibilities of the application systems department.
  10. Ensures all application systems are at 100% up time and available when required.  Develops the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure this requirement.
  11. Conduct system outage analysis and prepare after action reports to prevent the reoccurrence of incidents.
  12. Ensures timely and efficient resolutions of application systems calls and work orders.
  13. Review, analyze and coordinate projects and upgrades, serves as project manager for all Application Systems.
  14. Responsible for documenting and maintaining detailed inventories for all application system and maintenance contract.
  15. Plans for technological obsolescence of application systems hardware/software.
  16. Responsible for documenting, implementing and administering change control processes and ensuring application revisions are tracked and documented.
  17. Performs thorough application security assessments to identify and mitigate any potential security vulnerabilities on an annual basis.
  18. Develops continuous training and ensures knowledge of all company systems.
  19. Ensures department is properly staffed and motivated to exceed the Sandia Resort and Casino’s goals and objectives.
  20. Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement. 
  21. Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.

 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field, required.
  2. Three (3) years progressively more responsible IT management related experience including supervising a helpdesk, application support, infrastructure          support and network support personnel.
  3. Two (2) years working knowledge SQL Server Administration, preferred.
  4. Knowledge and experience working in project management and implementations of technology solutions including business application projects
  5. Or equivalent combination of education, direct experience, in this occupation should at a minimal total seven (7) years.

Preferred:

  1. Microsoft MCP and Project Management certifications.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors.
  2. Work hours subject to odd and unusual hours, including weekends, overtime and being on call.
  3. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  4. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  5. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  6. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:
    • Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry
    • Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate
    • Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate
  8. Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
