SALES ASSOCIATE TIWA (Smoke Shop)

Description:

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Sales Floor and/ or Smoke Shop Coordinators responsible for retail/wholesale sales.  Provides customer service and product information.

Supervision Exercised/Receives

Supervised by the Smoke Shop, & Sales Floor Coordinators.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greets customers cordially.
  2. Aggressively promotes sales of inventory.
  3. Accurately handles all sales transactions through Point-of-Sale systems-cash handling: check verification, credit card processing, shipping/handling, and data entry verification.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate information and/or policy and procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.
  5. Directs patrons to proper office as appropriate to seek resolution of problems beyond the information and capabilities available to sales associate.
  6. May answer telephones, maintain bathroom, wash floor and windows, prepare invoices, and maintain accurate application of transactions.
  7. Re-stocking and merchandising of inventory.
  8. Affix price labels as directed by purchasing.
  9. Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  10. Maintains and replaces/re-stocks supplies.
  11. Maintains clean cases and merchandise.
  12. Maintains and cleans refrigerators, freezers, counters, sinks, displays, etc.
  13. Maintains brochure and informative materials.
  14. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties and assignments.

  3. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  4. High School diploma GED Certificate.
  5. Must be friendly, enjoy working with public and communicate effectively.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED Certification or equivalent.
  2. Two (2) years retail experience.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
  3. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License within 30 days of hire date.
  4. Ability to obtain and maintain any other licenses and/or certifications as determined by management.

Working Conditions

  1. Work normally performed indoors.
  2. Work is performed on weekdays and weekends.
  3. Be available to work 24/7.
  4. Work requires normal dexterity while walking, climbing stairs, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, and lifting.
