DISHWASHER

Description:

Position Summary

Under general supervision, perform activities in support of all food and beverage outlets.

Supervision Exercised

Supervised by the Lead Steward.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Washes pots, pans and utensils.
  2. Placement of washed items in their proper storage areas, upside down or in covered containers using safe ware washing techniques.
  3. Maintains cleanliness of dishwashing machine and receptacle underneath.
  4. Sweeps and mops food storage area, kitchen and concession area floors as needed.
  5. Cleans outside grease bin daily.
  6. Refills dishwasher chemical as needed.
  7. Cleans storage racks as needed.
  8. Participates in daily stand-up meetings to ensure that property information is understood.
  9. Timely completion of computer assisted training.
  10. Cleans plastic drapes on outside door and walk-in refrigerator door as needed.
  11. Empties trash containers, thoroughly washes and replaces liners.
  12. Removes trash items to the portable dump cart then transports to the large dump receptacle.
  13. Cleans and thoroughly washes the fry and steam kettles as needed.
  14. Assists in properly arranging food and dry storage items.
  15. Utilizes safe ware washing and lifting techniques at all times.
  16. Complies with property appearance standards at all times.
  17. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to follow instructions.
  2. Exhibiting a strong commitment to the organization.
  3. Knowledge of buffet line requirements.
  4. Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food/drink preservation.
  5. Knowledge of Tribal, Federal, State and local sanitary regulations regarding the preparation, maintenance, storage and sales of food/drink products.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Preferred:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  2. Experience in restaurant or food service capacity

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course within 30 days of hire date.
  3. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors and outdoors.  Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions.
  2. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  3. Work hours are subject to change with overtime work required.
  4. Subject to hazards, which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  5. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors, outdoor surfaces, cement structures and surfaces.
  6. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:
    • Trunk - bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry
    • Arms – reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate
    • Legs – lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate
    • Hands – Grasp, manipulate bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, and overall and finger dexterity.
