JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary
Coordinate activities of staff and convention personnel to make arrangements for group meetings and conventions.
Supervision Exercised
Supervised by the Convention Services Manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provides group guests with friendly, courteous and timely service.
  2. Contacts event organizer prior to group arrival to consult with customers in order to determine and finalize requirements for their meetings, conferences, and conventions.
  3. Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, audio/visual, special needs requirements, printing and event security.
  4. Prepares a detail event summary for approval by the customer and subsequent disseminate to the various hotel service departments for all groups over 50 rooms. Coordinates a pre-convention meeting.
  5. Inspect VIP guest rooms displays.
  6. Inspect event facilities in order to ensure that they conform to customer requirements. During the course of the group program, checks daily with the group organizer and has problems corrected immediately by the responsible department head.
  7. At conclusion of the group event meets with group organizer to prepare a short customer evaluation- post-convention summary.
  8. Review and approval bills for presentation to the customer prior to group departure.

  1. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, coordination of people and resources.

  8. Excellent computer skills using Windows operating systems and software.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
1.    A Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Hospitality Management or related field
2.    Two (2) years experience in a 3 or 4 star hotel.
3.    Work experience may be substituted for education requirements.
4.    Must have a valid NM Driver’s License
Licensing Status
Must be able to obtain and maintain a STGC Non-Gaming License at the Key employee level.
