JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary
Clean and maintain all guest hallways and stairwells in accordance with all housekeeping procedures and standards. Deliver all clean linen to the floor closets, assist Guest Room Attendants by delivering supplies, stripping bed, collecting soiled linen and trash, stocking all floor closets and keeping all linen closets neat and organized.
Supervision Exercised
Reports to the Housekeeping Inspector.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Stripping all vacant rooms (linen, terry, trash, and service trays) from the opened guest rooms.
  2. Stock storage closets and clean linen and all amenities needed; making up all rollways.
  3. Empty guest room attendant trash & linen from housekeeping carts continuously throughout the day.
  4. Clean guest elevators & vending areas (emptying trash, mirrors, elevator doors & floors and vending machine glass).
  5. Clean all guest room hallways and stairwells in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations.
  6. Wall all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers and service trays, empty ash urn receptacles, remove trash and/or linens and not any areas that need immediate cleaning.
  7. Sort dirty linen and throw down appropriate linen chute, take other linen to loading dock and put in prescribed bins.
  8. Remove trash from service areas, and take to the appropriate location.
  9. Perform function of GRA as needed.
  10. Attend to guests needs such as: lost and found items, irons, cribs, towels, etc.
  11. Report any lost and found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to the housekeeping inspector.
  12. Respond to all requests and questions timely and efficiently.
  13. Immediately report any maintenance issues.
  14. Any other duties as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Ability to operate a floor buffer and stripping machine.
  2. Ability to operate a vacuum cleaner.
  3. Ability to converse in English.
  4. Excellent customer service skills.
  5. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Excellent organizational skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
  1. High School diploma or GED preferred. 
  2. Previous hotel work experience preferred.
Licensing Status
Must be able to successfully pass a Background Investigation.
