Position Summary
Accommodate resort patrons by registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room keys, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests’ accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests. Receives cash, or credit cards from guests and records transactions. Answers inquires pertaining to hotel services. Promotes positive guest relations. Operates computer terminal at Front Desk.
Supervision Exercised
Reports to the Front Desk Supervisor.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provides all guests with friendly, courteous and timely service.
  2. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests on arrival.
  3. Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts.
  4. Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  5. Provides back up to reservations by making and confirming reservations.
  6. Post charges for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to guest accounts.
  7. Transmit and receive messages.
  8. Issue room keys.
  9. Answer inquiries pertaining to Sandia Resort and Casino.
  10. Deposit guests' valuables in hotel safes or safe-deposit boxes.
  11. Stock brochures at front desk.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Excellent customer service skills.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  3. Knowledge of computers and Windows software.
  4. Basic mathematic skills.
  5. The ability to run a computerized cash register.
  6. Excellent organizational skills


Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
  1. High school diploma or GED certificate
  2. One (1) year experience in a hotel or customer service job.
  3. Must be 18 years old.
Licensing Status
Must be able to successfully pass a Background Investigation.
