CAGE/VAULT MANAGER

Position Summary

Oversee and direct the Casino Cage and Vault.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains control of the Cage/Vault Department’s Budget by keeping Payroll and operating expenses in line with business volumes.
  2. Ensures all Cage/Vault employees receive training on Internal Controls and operating systems.
  3. Ensures all staff are efficiently scheduled in accordance with key volume indicators and guest service needs.
  4. Schedules and directs the work of cage and vault staff.
  5. Ensures compliance with the Cage/Vault Department Internal Controls.
  6. Effectively communicates with Cage/Vault staff through Stand-ups.
  7. Overseas and monitors drop cash transfers into vaults.
  8. Reconciles cash counts and other paperwork daily.
  9. Ensures each Cage/Vault Associate provides accurate, friendly, timely and courteous service to customers.
  10. Provides reports to General Manager of Gaming Operations and other department managers as necessary.
  11. Oversees preparation and maintenance of W2-G reporting system.
  12. Responsible for communication and coordination with Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission, Revenue Audit and external auditors.
  13. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
  14. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. 

 Additional Responsibilities

  1. Provides direct management and supervision to all reporting Team Members, typically for a larger department, operational area or more complex professional department. 
  2. Functions as an advisor to the operations and sets goals that are results oriented, organized, and account for business challenges. 
  3. Guides the team to achieve a well-defined structure and efficient operation. 
  4. Delegates responsibilities to the most qualified Team Members through observing and understanding strengths and weaknesses. 
  5. Creates an environment of teamwork, through communicating common goals, shows appreciation for team members contributions and on-going support, and leads by example. 
  6. Collaborates and communicates effectively in a professional and articulate manner. 
  7. Demonstrates strong knowledge of all reporting departments/operational areas.
  8. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems, generate solutions, and implement them.

 

 

 

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success.  KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Ability to supervise, lead and direct the work of assigned staff.
  2. Ability to deal effectively with the public and casino staff.
  3. Ability to work under pressure.
  4. Ability to use a CRT terminal.
  5. Knowledge of casino accounting requirements preferred and thorough analytical and problem-solving ability.
  6. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.

Requirements:

   Education and Experience  

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Four (4) years’ experience in a banking, public accounting or related position.
  3. Two (2) years casino cage experience.
  4. One (1) year supervisory experience.
  5. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

 

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
