SLOT SHIFT MANAGER

Description:

Position Summary
Under the leadership of the Director of Slot Operations, this position will assist in the supervision, administration and coordination of the day to day slot operations.  Will work with the Director to develop and achieve goals and objectives for the department.  Provides leadership and motivation to staff at all levels to ensure a consistent and professional department image. 
Supervision Exercised
Reports to the Director of Slot Operations.
 
Supervises employees as assigned.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1.            Provides excellence in customer service and ensures the same from all employees.
2.            Assists the Director of Slot Operations in the development, implementation and monitoring of slot policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the goals and objectives of Sandia Casino.
3.            Directs Assistant Shift Managers and Slot Supervisors in coordinating the work of their assigned employees and assigned areas of responsibility to assure shift continuity.
4.            Performs assigned slot department activities in accordance with policies and procedures prescribed in the Sandia Casino System of Internal Controls.
5.            Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Slot Department budget.
6.            Identifies staff development needs and ensures recommended training is completed.  Responsible for training staff on current and new technology of slot machines.
7.            Oversees scheduling of all shift employees.
8.            Communicates information to incoming Shift Manager.
9.            Handles complaints to ensure guest’s satisfaction.
10.         Supervises all disciplinary issues on the shift.
11.         Ensures adherence to federal cash reporting requirements.
12.         Trains slot employees.
13.         Ensures that employee Performance Appraisals are done in a timely manner.
14.         Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
1.            Ability to supervise, direct and assign work.
2.            Ability to make judgments and decisions regarding customer employee complaints.
3.            Ability to implement and administer disciplinary procedures.
4.            Ability to analyze and develop time lines, project resources, monitor and evaluate results.
5.            Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
6.            Ability to develop and administer a slot budget.
7.            Ability to deal effectively with the general public and casino staff.
8.            Ability to write reports and maintain slot files and employee schedules.
9.            Ability to develop and implement training needs for employees and Tribal members.
10.         Knowledge of Casino operations, Tribal, federal and state reporting requirements.
11.         Knowledge of all slot and gaming equipment.
12.         Ability to work under extreme pressure and levels of stress.
13.         Ability to count and verify large sums of money: coin/cash.
14.         Ability to recognize and process jackpot payouts.
15.         Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
Required:
1.    High School Diploma, GED Certification or equivalent.
2.    Five (5) years of slot operations experience in a management role.
3.    Must be at least 21 years of age.
4.    Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
Preferred:
1.    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field.
Licensing Status
1.    Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
2.    Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
