CAGE VAULT CASHIER

Description:

Position Summary
Redeems Slot Machine Vouchers and chips.  Settles Slot Machine jackpots and Cancel Credit Pay Outs with Slot Floor personnel.  Creates and records W2-G and MTL transactions. Issues Chip fills and credits to gaming tables.  Safeguard bankroll.   Check cashing and cash advance responsibilities. Operates a Cash Dispenser.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Cage/Vault Manager, Cage/Vault Lead Supervisor, and the Cage/Vault Supervisors and Banker.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Redeems Gaming chips and processes coin for customers in courteous and timely fashion.
  2. Executes all Cage/Vault Department’s Internal Controls.
  3. Validates and redeems Slot Machine Vouchers.
  4. Validates and settles Slot Machine jackpots and CCPO’s(Cancel Credit Pay Outs)
  5. Creates W2-G, 1042s and processes W-9 tax forms for Jackpot payouts.
  6. Issues Table Chip fills and Table credits to gaming tables.
  7. Processes customer check Cashing applications to determine check cashing limits and issue VIP cards.
  8. Cashes customer’s paper and E-checks, credit and/or debit card cash advances.
  9. Responsible for making even exchanges of funds throughout shift at Employee Windows.
  10. Accurately records customer redemptions on the MTL (Multiple Transaction Log) and NIL (Negotiable Instrument Log) to comply with Title 31 regulations.
  11. Verifies all Resort and Food & Beverage Banks before issuing to Resort and F & B Employees.
  12. Verifies and safeguards their assigned Bankroll in accordance with department variance policy.
  13. Verifies all Slot Banks before issuing to Slot Floor Attendants.
  14. Verifies all returning Banks and Deposits.
  15. Counts and verifies Casino, F & B, and Resort Employee’s tips.
  16. Balances cash drawer with receipts and resolves any variances.
  17. Responsible for balancing up to $250k daily cash drawer.
  18. Uses Currency Counter and straps currency.
  19. Uses Coin Counter to count and verify coin.
  20. Sorts and stacks chips by denomination.
  21. Sells and records tournament entries.
  22. Redeems Free Play coupons for Promotional and Gaming Chips.
  23. Disburses tournament, Poker Bad Beat and promotional cash and chip payouts.
  24. Issues and logs disbursement of Slot Ticket paper to Slot Floor Attendants.
  25. Counts and records accurately all currency, coin, vouchers and chips.
  26. Prepares appropriate paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion.
  27. Balances cash drawer with receipts and resolves any variances.
  28. Executes all Cage/Vault Department’s Internal Controls.
  29. Performs additional duties as necessary or assigned.

  1. Must have excellent customer service skills.
  2. Must have basic math skills.
  3. Must have basic computer skills.
  4. Ability to operate 10 Key adding machine.
  5. Ability to count and sort coin and currency in large amounts.
  6. Ability to work under pressure with speed and accuracy.
  7. Ability to deal effectively with the public and casino staff.
  8. Knowledge of Casino cash receipts and reporting requirements.
  9. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. One (1) year cashiering experience.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age
  4. .

Preferred:

  1. Previous work experience in a casino cage.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed while standing at their station during their assigned shift.
  2. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  3. No or very limited physical effort required.
  4. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  5. Will be exposed to cigarette smoke and loud noises.
  6. Must be able to lift trays and bags weighing up to 50 lbs.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:
