BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR

Description:

Position Summary

Supervising the day to day operations of casino floor beverage service on assigned shift; ensuring that all beverage products served,  meet the established standards.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Assistance Beverage Manager.

 

Supervises Beverage Servers, Bartenders, Cocktail Waitresses and Bar Backs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervises all aspects of the beverages served to guest in casino floor lounges and the Pool Bar 
  2. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, strategic planning, profit and loss analysis and maintenance, performance appraisals, ensuring stand up meeting are conducted daily by shift and addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner. 
  3. Timely completion of computer assisted training as required.
  4. Approves schedules for all casino floor and Pool Bar beverage employees
  5. Completing daily and monthly financial analysis reports as assigned by the Assistant Beverage Manager.
  6. Conducting the monthly physical beverage inventory and researching discrepancies as needed.
  7. Soliciting guests feedback by direct interaction and comment cards and following up as necessary in a timely manner. 
  8. Maintaining a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for employees and guests.
  9. Ensuring that all service equipment is handled safely and with reasonable care and reporting mechanical problems to the proper department for repair.
  10. Coaching, reinforcing, and leading by example by creating a positive and supportive environment enforcing all regulatory internal controls, policies and procedures.
  11. Enforcing the property appearance standards at all times in an ongoing effort to maintain our properties brand image.
  12. Continually coaches staff for improvement and delegates tasks as needed.
  13. Approves requisitions and oversees transfers of all product to other designated locations.
  14. Other duties as assigned by Beverage Management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent customer service skills.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  3. Basic P&L knowledge, understanding of purchasing, beverage, food handling knowledge. 
  4. Knowledge of local and state liquor laws.
  5. Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.  
  6. Able to assist in interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of associate.
  7. Knowledge of lounge operations. 
  8. Ability to supervise employees.
  9. Ability to handle guest conflict situations
  10. Detail oriented with strong customer service focus. 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. Two (2) years food and beverage supervisory experience in an establishment with similar volume
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Preferred:

  1. Two (2) years of college.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
  3. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License within 30 days of hire date.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outside work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  2. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  3. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke; diseases; cuts bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors an
  4. d elevated noise levels.
  5. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  6. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:
    1. Trunk- bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry.
    2. Arms – reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate.
    3. Legs – lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate.
    4. Hands – Grasp, manipulate bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, and overall and finger dexterity.
  8. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
