BEVERAGE SERVER

Description:

Position Summary

Provides wait service to the Casino guests.  Delivers, food, drinks, cigarettes, and any item out of vending machines to Card room guests.  Assist in the maintaining of the Casino floor as well as around Card tables, by removing service trays and any unnecessary clutter or trash between machines, on or around card tables.

Supervision Exercised

Supervised by the Beverage Supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide excellent customer service and establish guest perception of buffet / coffee shop service as that of exceptional hospitality and friendliness.
  2. Ensure that all guests are greeted with a sincere welcome.
  3. When assigned to the table games area, approach customers only when cards are not in play.
  4. Keep all items, as assigned, fully stocked.
  5. Ensure that gaming area is properly maintained and excess cups, trash, dirty ashtrays, etc. are removed from the gaming area.
  6. Ensure that health and safety regulations are maintained.
  7. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Ability to follow instructions.

  3. Ability to deal effectively with the general public and casino staff.
  4. Ability to work under pressure.
  5. Ability to pass a basic math test.
  6. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  7. Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food/drink preservation.
  8. Knowledge of Tribal, Federal, State and local sanitary regulations regarding the preparation, maintenance, storage and sales of food/drink products.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Preferred:

  1. High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent. 
  2. Experience in restaurant or food service capacity.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License within 30 days of hire date.
  3. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  1. Work is performed indoors.
  2. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  3. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  4. Subject to hazards, which may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  5. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  6. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  7. Specific required movements include the following:

Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry

Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate

Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate

Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
