General Technician


Position Title:     General Technician
Reports to:          Department Supervisor


  • Perform responsibilities as directed by supervisor
  • During periods of downtime, clean and/or sweep floor
  • Keep area neat and orderly
  • Be knowledgeable of all job functions related to assigned position
  • Work as a team player with members of the crew and others in the plant
  • Adhere to all Red Gold policies, rules and regulations, including GMP’s and safety.
  • Responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for specified Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.
  • Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.



  • High School Diploma, GeneralEducational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience

Specific Skills Required

  • Must be able to understand and carry out basic instructions while performing manual labor related tasks.
  • Must be able to successfully use basic, math, writing, and reading skills necessary to complete the required paperwork and projects.

  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able to operate basic electrical switches
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Must be able to operate a forklift

  • Go over the operating equipment, work processes, quality standards, and safety procedures related to the position.
