Business Intelligence Architect

The BI Architect works in an environment which includes Business Intelligence (BI) architecture, software administration/upgrades, performance tuning and BI report application development. Works with business areas to understand their short and long term data analytics goals; and designs solutions to meet those goals.

Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way by ensuring every interaction includes our PEAK Service Standards and work harmoniously with fellow team members.
Designs, development, and enhances business intelligence (BI) tools.
Develops, manages, and updates data models, including physical and logical models of the data warehouse, data mart, and staging area, and sometimes the operational data store and source systems as well.
Works with team members to design, manage, and update match-merge/associative processes to accommodate defined business rules.
Responsible for the configuration of BI tools; development of the semantic layer and metadata; creation of reports and report definitions; creates and delivers end-user training and documentation and provides second-line support to power users who develop reports on behalf of their departmental colleagues.
Constructs and designs consolidated customer views enabling end users to cross-sell, up-sell, and build customer retention.
The ability to lead projects from requirements to implementation is a must. This is a position that will require the ability to complete all phases of a development project and will require on-call support.
The resource will have a functional understanding of the operational systems that feed the DW, particularly how the data is presented and managed within those operational systems.
Extensive interaction and collaboration with business users and the Corporate IT staff is required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
Minimum 7 years of experience in Information Technology, which can include Application Development, Project Management, etc.
Work experience in related Gaming Industry can qualify toward experience preferred.
Accreditations / Certifications in industry standard database platforms (MS SQL / Teradata, etc.) preferred.
Strong knowledge in various BI platforms, which can include Tableau, Cognos, SAS, etc.
Ability to assume responsibility for independent/self-directed action.
Preferred experience with specific applications that would be supported by this position.
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and/or gaming license within assigned state of employment
Must successfully pass background check
Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Understanding of source and target data structures, ETL processes, and products
Data quality assessment skills and query performance tuning.
Experience developing and implementing high-quality business intelligence processes.
Experience in establishing methodologies and procedures based on industry best practices.
Experience in logical and physical database design and modeling.
Experience with extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes
Completes mapping and transformation programs
Schedules extraction and load processes
Experience in documenting and maintaining ETL metadata in a metadata repository
Ability to build, follow and interpret use case scenarios.
Conceptual and analytic skills.
Knowledge of business domain.
Translate business questions and requirements into reports and views.
Knowledge of BI tool architectures, functions, and features.
Understand SQL and relational and multi-dimensional designs.
Understand and comply with all appropriate regulations.
Understands and utilizes all appropriate tools such as MS Project, Word, Excel, etc.
Excellent technical, complex problem solving, interpersonal, oral & written communication skills.
Must have strong time management skills.
Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments.
